This Week’s Adventure
Just arrived here at Doe Branch Ink, to be the writer-in-residence with four other writers for a week of mostly writing and some feedback and critiquing sessions, plus a lot of hanging out.
I did one of these weeks last fall and it was like a literary houseparty, people tapping away on their keyboards here and there around the big house — and out in the cute little bunkhouse. Then a hike somewhere during the day and good conversation at dinner. And there's an excellent collection of novels opposite the little fireplace/stove in the living room.
Just unpacked. Waiting for the others to come. Will keep you posted. Here's the view from the desk in my room of these November North Carolina mountains.

Thanks. We just finished dinner, wrapped it up with chocolate silk pie. Amazing food here, sorta like Rancho La Puerta with maybe a few more calories.
I was in the mtns. with my teens last weekend from TH-Sunday and had such a productive writing time. There's something about the mtns. that opens up all my channels. Enjoy!!
Your kids are teens now?! Both of them? Seems quick. And I’m glad you had a productive mountain week. The time here seems to stretch out longer, be more plentiful; maybe it’s not driving anywhere or running any errands.
