Still Celebrating

During the several years I've been working on my coming-out-next-year novel COBALT BLUE, I've been collecting items to wear to celebrate.  This dress is from a thrift shop near the causeway between mainland San Diego and Coronado Island.  The glasses — and you can just imagine my delight at finding them — are from the PTA thrift shop in Chapel Hill.  I have quite a collection of Cobalt Blue, and my timing is very lucky; all the fashion magazines are announcing it this fall as the color of the season.  I'll be wearing mine well into next year — and beyond.

Thanks, Mamie. I had plenty of time to prepare. I have a whole cobalt blue collection: clothing and home decor.

Dress: fabulous. Glasses just the right amount of over the top. The woman under all the glitter: priceless.

Hey Peggy– "long time- no see"…you look great, happy and pleased with your work….I am now living in Cincinnati, after some work with Duke hospital right after graduation, then I spent 25 years in IBM sales in 3 different states…I then had some short stints managing a purchasing in a university in St. Louis, then purchasing work at Monsanto in St. Louis…glad not  to have to work with a job schedule anymore….now living in Cincinnati, OH, where I enjoy some old/some new friends, including Elizabeth Stack Findlay and her family (Elizabeth's #2 girl — BETSY– is my God child–now well grown up) . Am busy everyday with my home, pool and friends…and always happy to find new friends. Hope some day we can reconnect in person— maybe the next reunion at Duke– we're now 42 years after graduation…maybe we can meet up again for our 45th or 50th!   Kathy Braun, 2730 Walsh Road, Cincinnati, OH; home 513-871-0034

Good to hear from you, Kathy. Sounds like your new schedule is wonderful — and I think Cinccinnati is a really interesting city, doesn’t get credit for how cool it is. I hope we do get together again at Duke, though 45 seems like an awfully large number.

I'm not one for fancy dress-up or "partying", however I understand, I think, your exuberant
pleasure and celebration of Cobalt Blue coming out next year.  Congratulations!!  And I know you'll have fun all along the trail of pre-pub and marketing.  Aiki

I’m definitely having fun, Aiki. Thanks.
