Charming Writerly Raleigh Office for Rent

The office upstairs from mine opened up yesterday. (Sad to say, Greenpeace is moving.)

But the change opens a space in this charming, historic 1910 “office house” at the downtown edge of Raleigh’s Oakwood, a few blocks from the Capitol.

The building, called Free Range Studio, currently contains four writers, one small art gallery and studio, and a music festival — all that handled by a total of four people.

The group is wonderfully convivial. Entirely female at the moment, but all genders are welcome.

And you don’t even have to be an artist.

These pictures show the building and owner, Carrie Knowles, and my office down the hall in the background. (I don’t currently have a photo of the available office.)

Other cool building amenities: a kitchen, porches front and back, a small walled garden, a community bowl of Hershey products, and a claw-foot bathtub.

For more info, contact Carrie, [email protected]. There are also pictures on her website: http://www.freerangenofences.com/.

I think I have seen that house – and it is charming!! I don't know anyone looking for space, but I'll keep my ears open.
