My 2001 novel Sister India, set in the Hindu holy city of Varanasi, emerged in recent days as an e-book. Appropriately for a book from the bank of the Ganges, it was re-released by the original publisher, Riverhead, an imprint of The Penguin Group.
I am very happy to have this book easily available again. So in a quiet demonstration of my joy, please allow me to remind you that the title is:
And in case it's hard to read, the fine print says: A New York Times Notable Book.
And: "Peggy Payne has created one of the more unsettling and mesmerizing characters in expatriate literature." –The New York Time Book Review
Thank you for joining me in this celebration! Imagine champagne and cake and trumpets, please.
